Screening programme: Eye diseases

The Brigadier Vora Clinic & Jyoti Bindu Diagnostic Centre organised a diagnostic and treatment programme for eye diseases on February 13. Dr J K Patel, Dr Ketanbhai Patel and Dr Sushmaben Desai, all senior ophthalmologists at Baroda, rendered their free services for this event. In all, 129 patients took benefit from the services. The most common ailments found were conjunctivitis, blephritis, errors of refraction, and cataract.

The Brigadier Vora Clinic & Jyoti Bindu Diagnostic Centre, Baroda, organised a consultation programme for heart patients on July 18, 2010. The team is very grateful to Dr Busrge of the Baroda Heart Hospital for attending about 75 patients, presenting with complaints of high blood pressure and heart disease, during the course of the day.

Baroda unit celebrates 16 years of operations

Our sister concern in Baroda, the Brigadier Vora Clinic & Jyoti Bindu Diagnostic Centre, celebrated its 16th year of operations in September. This years' ceremony was special, in that it took place in the newly renovated hospital building.

Health check-up programme

The Brigadier Vora Clinic & Jyoti Bindu Diagnostic Centre arranged a diagnosis and consultation camp for heart diseases, hypertension and diabetes on July 19. Volunteer consultants Dr Mahesh Basarge, cardiologist, Baroda Heart Institute, Dr Sunilbhai Maniar, senior consultant physician, Shreya Nursing Home, Dr Jaiminbhai B Shah, senior consultant physician, Yogini Vasantidevi Hospital proffered advice to 83 patients in all, which included 68 diabetes patients, 39 cardiac patient and 62 patients of hypertension. Every aspect of the programme was a collaborative effort. A laboratory team from pharma major Glaxo conducted blood glucose diagnosis for no charge. Members of the Brahma Kumaris of Baroda donated medicines to distribute to ailing patients. Staff members sisters Rujuta and Jyotsana conducted ECGs, also for no charge.
