Screening programme: General surgery
A general surgery screening programme was held on February 24 at village Varada in district Sirohi. Consultant laparoscopic surgeon Dr Digant Pathak and general surgeon Dr Sanjay Varma were consulted by 86 patients of which eight were advised to J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre, Mount Abu.

A screening programme for patients with ENT and general surgery ailments was held at Sayla, in district Jalore, on February 6. The venue of the programme was the Government Hospital in Sayla. In all, 125 patients consulted ENT surgeon Dr Sharad Mehta and general surgeon Dr Digant Pathak. Twenty patients were advised to visit the base hospital for further treatment.

Screening programme
A screening programme held at Sanchore in district Jalore on January 23 was well attended.
General surgeon Dr Digant Pathak was consulted by 102
patients, of whom 17 were referred to J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre for surgery and five were referred for further diagnosis. Gynaecologist Dr Saurabhi Singh saw 119 patients and identified 12 as needing surgical interventions. Dental surgeon Dr Laxmi Patil (seen in photograph) was consulted by 45 patients while 21 patients presented to paediatrician Dr Yogesh Jyori.
Thanks to the MLA of Sanchore tehsil, Jivaramji Choudhari, for sponsoring this programme.

Multispecialty programme
A multi-specialty consultation and screening programme organised in Bali on October 31 went off very well. It was attended by ENT surgeon Dr Sharad Mehta, general surgeon Dr Digant Pathak, physician Dr Sachin Sukhsohale and dentists Dr Laxmi Patil, Dr Girish, and Dr Rajbir.
In all, 413 patients consulted the specialists, about 100 per discipline. Seventy nine patients were referred to J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre, for further treatment or investigations. The consultants also distributed medicines to needy patients for no charge.

Urology surgery
Dr Darshan Shah of Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad operated on 11 patients during a urology surgery programme held on October 1 and 2. He was assisted by general surgeon Dr Sanjay Varma and general and laparoscopic surgeon Dr Digant Pathak. The operations included three PCNL, two TURP and URS, three cystoscopy's and one urethral sling.
