The closing ceremony of the National Eye Donation Fortnight was held at the Brahma Kumaris centre in Sirohi. On the occasion, Dr Partap Midha, director, J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre (seen third from
left) elucidated the ophthalmic activities of the hospitals at Mount Abu and Abu Road and commended the contribution of the ophthalmic teams at both units led by Dr V K Sharma and Dr Sudhir Singh. National Eye Donation Fortnight
On August 30, 2009, the staff of the P C Parmar Global Hospital Eye Care Centre inaugurated an eye donation
awareness counter at the Abu Road Railway Station. The station manager L R Meena and the chief ticket collector Sandeep Sharma kindly consented to be present on this occasion, alongside clinical head, P C Parmar Global Hospital Eye Care Centre, Dr V K Sharma and BK Somshekhar and BK Nirmal from the Brahma Kumaris railway counter.
The counter is actively distributing hand bills to waiting passengers at the Abu Road railway station, as well as to passengers aboard trains passing by the station during the day, in a bid to motivate passengers to pledge their eyes. These activities will continue till September 8.

National Eye Donation Fortnight
The National Eye Donation Fortnight was inaugurated with a candle lighting ceremony led by former Members
of Parliament from Rajkot Ramaben Mavani and Ramjibhai, medical superintendent Dr Satish Gupta, and others. On the occasion, Dr Gupta, Mrs Mavani and Dr Amit Mohan, ophthalmologist, Global Hospital Institute of Ophthalmology addressed the audience about the importance of eye donation, following which many inspired people pledged their eyes!
