Screening programme by ENT department

Thanks to Bishan Das Mehta & Sons of Reodhar for sponsoring the cost of ENT surgery for six needy patients. The patients were identified as requiring surgery at a screening programme held at Reodhar on June 18. Consultant ENT surgeon Dr Sharad Mehta saw 65 patients in all at this programme.

Screening programme in Sayla

A screening programme for patients with ENT and general surgery ailments was held at Sayla, in district Jalore, on February 6. The venue of the programme was the Government Hospital in Sayla. In all, 125 patients consulted ENT surgeon Dr Sharad Mehta and general surgeon Dr Digant Pathak. Twenty patients were advised to visit the base hospital for further treatment.

ENT Screening Programme

An ENT screening programme was organised at Kalindri in district Sirohi on September 5. Consultant ENT surgeon Dr Sharad Mehta was consulted by 167 patients of whom 13 were found to need surgery and therefore referred to J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre, Mount Abu. Another 5 patients were signed up to be included in an ongoing Indian Council of Medical Research sponsored ENT research project which is being led by Dr Mehta.

ENT Screening Programme

Our ENT department organised a screening programme at Bali. In all, 109 patients were selected for surgery and seven patients were identified to be included in an ongoing ICMR ENT sponsored research project led by ENT consultant Dr Sharad Mehta.

  • Tympanoplasty, that is, surgery for the reconstruction of the middle ear to correct deafness and stop discharge
  • Stapedectomy, surgery to correct conductive deafness due to otosclorosis
  • Rhinoplasty or cosmetic nose surgery
  • Surgery for thyroid and parotid swellings
  • Surgery to excise head and neck tumours, both benign or malignant tumours
