News from Baroda

The Brigadier Vora Clinic & Jyoti Bindu Diagnostic Centre, Baroda, organised a consultation programme for heart patients on July 18, 2010. The team is very grateful to Dr Busrge of the Baroda Heart Hospital for attending about 75 patients, presenting with complaints of high blood pressure and heart disease, during the course of the day.

Health check-up

A health check-up endeavour for economically underprivileged women was launched at J Watumull Global Hospital & Research Centre on March 8, Women's Day. The offer extends to women living in all the wards of Mount Abu. Each woman will undergo an ophthalmic check-up, blood test for anaemia and blood sugar, blood pressure check, obesity (height/weight) check and examination for gynaecological health status. Iron tablets will be prescribed and distributed for no charge to women found to have low haemoglobin counts.

Health Awareness Drive for Drivers

On January 8, in association with the Lions Club of Mount Abu and the local traffic police, Global Hospital arranged a health check-up cum awareness drive for drivers of jeeps, the local mode of transportation for tourists to the hill station. The drivers underwent blood pressure and diabetes checks. Consultant neuropsychiatrist Dr Nikhil Patel also addressed the drivers on the need and means to stay stress-free by managing anger and avoiding the temptations of drug abuse. Sister Shivali, senior assistant - purchase & claims, shared information on medical insurance policies.

Healthy check-ups for Abu Road residents

The G V Modi Rural Health Care Centre has actively taken up the task of encouraging residents of Abu Road to undergo comprehensive health check-ups. About 75 persons availed of this facility in July 2009.
