Check-up for diabetes patients

A free diabetes diagnostic camp was held at Global Hospital, Mount Abu on August 28, 2009. The camp, aimed at patients having a history of diabetes, involved the conduct of the glycosylated haemoglobin test that measures average glucose levels over the previous three months. Ninety five regular patients of the Global Hospital diabetes clinic were tested, of which only ten percent were found to have abnormal values. This suggests that most of the patients presenting in the diabetes clinic are managing their condition well.
