Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Global Nursing College lecturers Dipti Prashar and Kamla Kant Parashar conducted a career counselling session for class 11 and class 12 students of the Government Higher Secondary School, Sirohi. About 100 students of the science stream took benefit from the interaction aimed at encouraging students to enrol for a BSc in Nursing.

On January 22, consultant neuropsychiatrist Dr Nikhil Patel inaugurated and participated in a programme on Stress-free Living at the Aiyappa Shiva Temple in Kochi.

About 25 students took benefit from the interaction aimed at encouraging students to enrol for a BSc in Nursing.

Conference participation

Senior consultant neuropsychiatrist Dr Nikhil Patel participated in the Annual National Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Society (ANCIPS) held at Kochi between January 19 and 22. This year, the conference theme was Psychiatry: Mysteries to Molecules. He chaired a symposium on Forensic Psychiatry - Matrimonial Relief for Persons with Mental Illness. Dr Patel was also a panelist in the symposium Guidelines for Marriage & Mental Health Issues in Women.

Screening programme: Department of General Surgery

A screening programme for patients suffering from ailments needing general surgery was held in village Kalindri on July 10. Forty cases presented to consultant general surgeon Dr Digant Pathak, of which he advised six to register for surgery.

Consultations by specialists

Cardiologist Dr Haresh Mehta from BSES MG Hospital was consulted by 36 patients during his visit on July 9 and 10. He also performed ten 2D echo investigations and supervised six TMTs. Gastroenterologist Dr Sandeep Shah, also from BSES MG Hospital proffered his advice to 32 patients and performed two endoscopy investigations.

Dental check-ups

One hundred children staying in local hostels underwent dental check-ups. After that, visiting orthodontist Dr Saurabh Mistry and senior dental surgeon Dr Niranjan Upadhyaya also spoke to the children about oral hygiene.
